Space project success for Laia Ramio helps CTAE
Published June 01, 2009
Laia Ramió, a school student from “Les Alzines” school in Girona, has completed an extensive study into the effects of lunar albedo upon spacecraft. The project was supervised by CTAE and by Laia’s teacher Lluïsa Codina, and has involved developing a thermal model for typical satellites in orbit around the Moon.
Laia has worked for many months to produce results and conclusions that are already interesting for the designers of a future mission – the Lunar Mission BW1 satellite from the Institute of Space Systems in Stuttgart, Germany. CTAE is very proud of the achievement made, and wishes Laia great success in her future studies. Some future collaboration opportunities are already under discussion.
