Beatriz Gallardo Valdivia
Aerospace R+D Engineer
Beatriz is a Master Telecommunications Engineer by the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) and alumni of the International Space University (ISU). She is staff of CTAE since January 2006 involved in the Satellite Navigation area.
During her education, she has worked as a project engineer in a technical consultancy, planning, developing and executing wireless communication projects. On her last academic year, she started an internship about UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) at CTAE, where she currently works as a R+D engineer.
Simultaneously, while she was doing her education and professional career, she has participated actively in several multidisciplinary projects and programs such as "III Siffacus Urban Space like water" where she designed an intelligent sculpture together with an architect; or the “Innova Program (UPC)", where she proposed a business idea about indoor localization with a group of UPC students or the design and construction of a wing tunnel.
Following her graduation and thanks to the support from ESA, CTAE and Barcelona's council, she attended the ISU Summer Space Program (SSP) 2007 in Beijing. After her experience in ISU, she went to visit the European Space Port in Kourou (French Guiana).
Nowadays, Beatriz is a member of Euroavia-Terrassa association and AESS Students Association (a chapter of AESS International, located in the Technological High School of Telecommunications Engineering at the UPC) and she has participated in the past EXPO-ESA conferences.
She enjoys travelling, observing the sky and flying.
