Caroline Lowenthal

Engineering Intern

Caroline Lowenthal started in CTAE in June 2009 as a engineering intern and is currently working for CTAE with Marcel Quintana and Aviv Hassidov on a project using augmented reality.

Caroline was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, and grew up 30 minutes away in Haverford, Pennsylvania.  She graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  In the fall of 2009 she will begin work on a graduate degree at MIT with a project in space telerobotics.

In the summer of 2008, she worked at Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) in Los Angeles, California.  In the summer of 2007, she worked on NASA´s Constellation Project Orion Launch Abort System at Orbital Sciences Corp., just outside of Washington, D.C.  She is interested in human factors as they relate to systems engineering.

She would like to get better at Spanish and learn some Catalan this summer. She enjoys swimming, biking, travelling, and dancing.
