Ivan Miguel Laureano
Navigation and Communications Engineer
Ivan joined the CTAE team early 2010 as Navigation and Communications Engineer. He is working on the MOVIN (Mobile Platform for Indoor Positioning) project. This project started thanks to a collaboration framework between CTAE and Evolve Space Solutions under an international internships program - INOV Contacto. Ivan will evaluate the performance and develop the user interface of the platform.
Ivan was born on 22nd f July of 1985 in Ourém, Portugal. He grew up in Lisbon and then moved to Aveiro to continue his studies (an Integrated Master) in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. His Final Thesis about Finite-context Models and Arithmetic Coding for compressing DNA Sequences is on hold so that he can concentrate his efforts on the CTAE’s project MOVIN (Mobile Platform for Indoor Positioning).
Ivan did Erasmus in VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic in 2008. In the future Ivan hope that he will continue is foreign adventure, study a Phd as well as a MBA and maybe create his own business. He has interests in any kind of technology, health, the human being, human mind, management and economics.
He is keen on travelling, meeting new people and discovering other cultures. He also likes cinema, music, the sea and be with his friends.
