Jorge Fuentes graduated as a Telecom Engineer at the Technical University of Catalonia and holds a Master’s in Radio Communications from the Univerza v Ljubljani in Slovenia.
During his university years he showed his management skills and international vocation being part of the Management Board of different associations and in particular becoming Vice-President of the Board of European Students of Technology office in Barcelona. It was also during these years that he consolidated his interest for the aerospace sector and was selected for the 4th Parabolic Flight Campaign of the European Space Agency in which he carried out the role of Project Manager for the Firemen project. To conclude his university studies, he developed his Master’s Thesis at the Department of Radio Communication of the Univerza v Ljubljani (Slovenia), under the supervision of Professor Matjaz Vidmar.
After a period of two years as an independent freelancing consultant in Strategy, Marketing, Technology Transfer and Innovation, he became Technology Advisor for the Innovation and Business Development Agency – Government of Catalonia (CIDEM) at the new Aerospace Research & Technology Centre (CTAE) in Catalonia with the mission of giving support in starting up this new technology centre and helping companies to set up R&D projects in the field of aerospace and aerospace technologies.
He holds a diploma in Space Studies from the International Space University (ISU) and is an active and proud alumnus and teacher of this university. In the last years he has undertaken Postgraduate Studies in Management and Business Administration at the University of Barcelona and has graduated with excellent marks. In addition to this, he fluently speaks five languages.
He is currently Deputy Director of CTAE, and is responsible for Business Development at the Centre.
