Luís Lança

Navigation and Communications Research Engineer

Luís was born the 14th of July of 1982 in Castro Verde, Portugal.  He holds an Electronic and telecommunications engineering degree of the University of Aveiro in Portugal, specialized in RF microelectronics systems and developing a final project involving the architecture design and simulation of a transmitter for UWB systems.

Luís joined CTAE team in January 2009, as Navigation and Communications Engineer.  His collaboration at CTAE begins with the participation in MOVIN (Mobile Platform for Indoor Positioning) project. Project developed under a collaboration framework between CTAE and Evolve Space Solutions under an international internships program - INOV Contacto. The main activity in this project was developing and implementing an Indoor Positioning software solution in a Google Android G1 Smartphone platform

Nowadays, Luís is working in SIGMA (Study of Innovative GNSS Multiconstellation Algorithm) project. This project aims to develop innovative positioning and integrity algorithms for demanding applications. SIGMA will investigate and implement different positioning techniques based on satellite navigation, mainly focusing on the integration of signals from two different satellites systems: GPS and Galileo.
 
His interests' area comprises Positioning and navigation systems, wireless communication systems.  He loves music and traveling.
