Mireia Colina

Research Engineer

In 2004, Mireia obtained her Double Telecommunications Engineer degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Politecnico di Torino in the frame of ERASMUS programme.  She carried out her final project at Centro Ricerche FIAT, Orbassano, Italy, in the Advanced Process Technologies, Assembly Technologies and Surface Treatments Assembling Department. The project was focused on the development of a real time monitoring system in the laser welding process, aimed at detecting process failure.

From 2004 to 2006 she was employed in the Time, Frequency and Electromagnetic Metrology Department at the Istituto Elettrotecnico Nazionale "G. Ferraris", Turin, Italy. She was actively involved in the development of the Time Service Provider, second Galileo Call, specifically in the prediction and steering area. In addition she was involved in the final stage of the Galileo System Test Bed-V1 project, Galileo System, a research project that was carried out at IEN “G.Ferraris”, currently INRiM.

In 2006, Mireia worked in the Navigation and Positioning Department at Indra Espacio S.A., Barcelona, Spain, as the responsible for the technical management of the contract related to GSS Core Assembly, Integration and Verification (AIV) Tools in the frame of the Galileo GSS Core Phase.

From 2006 to 2008 she obtained further Professional Experience on Navigation Systems in the frame of the Spanish Trainee Program at ESA /ESTEC, the Netherlands. There, she developed a Station Assessment Software in the In-Orbit-Test (IOT) for GIOVE-B, aimed at detecting signal and receiver failures. In addition she was actively involved in the Galileo Experimental Sensor Stations (GESS) Performances Validation Assessment of the current Galileo System Performances for the Early Experimentation of GIOVE-A1 in the frame of Galileo System Test Bed- Version 2 (GSTB-V2). 

Her current responsibilities at CTAE include technical management of development of new processing techniques for satellite navigation solutions.

Mireia enjoys travelling, sports, theatre, Latin American dance and yoga.
