Natalia Gutierrez
Telecommunications Engineer
Natalia is close to obtaining her degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2009. She joined CTAE in late 2008, where she works in satellite communication projects.
For her final degree thesis, she worked with UPC’s Image Processing Department on a project in the field of Smart Rooms, which are intelligent systems using cameras, microphones and other sensors to try to interpret what people are doing in order to help them. Natalia’s Project was to develop a calibration algorithm for a pan-tilt-zoom camera, to model the projection process and relate the 3D environment with the image captured in any camera position.
Natalia has also worked with UPC’s Department of Telematic Engineering, in the development of teaching materials.
She also has trainee experience in industry, namely at Indra Espacio S.A. in Barcelona, where she worked in satellite communication projects, specifically in research and simulation of physical layer phenomena such as: code/phase synchronization algorithms, error correction and aeronautics channel effects.
