Oriol Badia
Navigation & Positioning Engineer
Oriol Badia started in CTAE in September 2007 as a Satellite Navigation Trainee and is currently working for CTAE as a Navigation & Positioning Engineer.
Oriol was born in Palau-solità i Plegamans, the 27th of October of 1986. He is got graduated in 2008 as Telecommunications Technical Engineer by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia -UPC-, specialising Telecommunications’ Systems. Currently, he is studying a Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering & Management –MASTEAM- at UPC. He attended the Summer Space Program
In summer 2008, thanks to the support from ESA, CTAE and Barcelona's Council, he attended the ISU Space Studies Program (SSP) 2008 in Barcelona, where he won its traditional space robotic competition.
Oriol developed his Final Project Degree at CTAE which consisted in programming a GPS software navigator, and he is interested in the GNSS -Global Navigation Satellite Systems- civilian applications, such as navigation or indoor positioning.
He would like to study abroad and learn several languages. He enjoys music, travelling, reading historical novels and he is passionate about sports, such as, climbing, snowboarding and trekking.
