Pedro Coutinho
Head of Satellite Navigation Applications Area
Pedro Coutinho has been with CTAE since March 2007 as a Satellite Navigation Engineer and has become Head of the Satellite Navigation Applications Area in 2008.
He studied Telecommunications Engineering in Porto, Portugal, and also holds a Master of Science in Digital Communications Systems and Technology from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
From August 2004 to February 2005 he did his Master’s Thesis, “New-GPS/Galileo Signals Acquisition”, at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) where he gained the will to pursue a future career in the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems. The desired specialization led him to work almost two years at GMV S.A. in Madrid, since May 2005. During this time he was involved in the research and implementation of digital signal processing algorithms and satellite navigation measurements processing algorithms with the goal of improving receivers’ performance under hostile environments. Occasionally, he also coped with road-charging techniques and automotive applications.
Pedro Coutinho is, since June 2009, Project Manager at EVOLVE Space Solutions, a Portuguese SME located in Lisbon.
